Spring is just around the corner, which means it's almost time for Artropy! The event will be held at SqWires - the Annex in historic Lafayette Square on April 17th from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Interested in participating?

It's an Indie Craft Revolution!

Mark your calendars for Indie Craft Revolution an in-door, booth style, juried art and independent craft market located conveniently at the St. Louis Artists' Guild in Oak Knoll Park at the corner of Clayton and Big Bend. The event will be March 13, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and March 14, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Check out some of SME members who will be at the show!

Fight for Air Climb

Amy Rickles of Stick to your Knittin' Kitten is participating in the Fight for Air Climb, presented by the American Lung Association. As the foremost defender of clean air, the American Lung Association strives to mitigate the ill effects of poor air quality to protect those with asthma, emphysema, lung cancer and other chronic lung disease. The Fight for Air Climb will raise funds and awareness to support education, research and advocacy programs so everyone can breathe easier. If you're interested for more info you can contact Amy HERE and check out why this worthy cause is so important.

I am participating in the Fight for Air Climb: Master the Met (www.masterthemet.com), a fundraiser for the American Lung Association. On March 6, I will be climbing 42 flights of stairs in the Metropolitan Building in downtown St. Louis. In order to participate in the climb, I need to raise a minimum of $100, but my personal goal is $200, and my team goal is $1000. As part of my fundraising efforts, I am donating 10% of all sales between February 10 and March 5 to the American Lung Association.

This organization is particularly close to my heart because lung-related issues have touched both my family and friends. In 2007, my grandfather died of emphysema and related problems. I have several friends and family members with severe asthma and actually have mild asthma myself. I also have a friend whose mother was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. I am happy to have the opportunity to help support this worthy cause.
